Who will keep an independent eye on the activities of the organising committees, sponsors, environment, contracted workers and many other aspects of the games ?

Vancouver - Aboriginal bands involved in British Columbia's succesful bid for the 2010 Winter Olympics have named Squamish First Nation hereditary Chief Gibby Jacob to the Games' organising committee. Gibby will be one of the 19 members of the board of directors. He joins representatives from the federal government, the province, Vancouver, Whislter. the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Paralympic Committee. Jacod said in a news release Friday the Games "present tremendous opportunities." "I will be working to ensure that local First Nations people and aboriginal people from all parts of Canada are provided with ways to participate and benefit from the Games."
