Now that Vancouver has the 2010 Olympics where do we go from here ?
Who will keep an independent eye on the activities of the organising committees, sponsors, environment, contracted workers and many other aspects of the games ?
Ferry Workers Ask for Olympic Assistance Nov 14, 2003
VANCOUVER/CKNW (AM 980)--The B.C. Ferry and Marine Workers Union is asking for help from the International Olympic Committee.
Union President Jackie Miller has written an open letter to I-O-C President Jacques Rogge asking him to support the Union in its contract battle with B.C. Ferries, and she denies she's simply trying to embarass the Campbell Government, "There's no intention to embarass the Government, I think they do a spectacular job of that on their own."
Miller says the I-O-C should not allow any Government to make gains using the Olympic name on the backs of workers.
