Campbell says Olympic idea-sharing could solve health care issues

VANCOUVER (CKNW/AM980)-- Vancouver's successful 2010 Olympic bid may indirectly help improve the province's health-care system. That according to B.C.'s premier, who says health care and aging populations are global issues.

B.C. and the Italian regional government responsible for the 2006 Torino games have signed a knowledge exchange agreement, and Gordon Campbell says ideas for health-care reform will be one of many topics discussed.

Campbell says one of the great things about an Olympics is that it brings in the world and its ideas, which could help bring solutions that may not have considered or known about.

A large delegation of Torino politicians, Olympic organizers and business leaders are visiting Vancouver this week, along with the IOC'S Coordination Commission for the 2010 Games.
